Let there be light!
That was the takeaway from Reem Acra’s show, a collection of airy dresses made from layer upon layer of transparent fabrics. Laser-cut detailing provided a fresh alternative to heavier lace, and silk petals gave the dresses botanical charm.
As ever, beading was a major element -It wouldn’t be a Reem show if there weren’t a little bling – But instead of creating a heavy feeling, the embellishments provided striking illumination, as on a tulle mermaid stunner that combined a deep V-neck with a completely beaded illusion back. A variety of floral headbands in shades of ivory and lavender were the perfect accessories for these dresses, creating a soft look for the modern bride.
